My English Diary - Week 1

Over the past week, I’ve been focusing on improving my English skills by practicing speaking, listening, and reading. I found it challenging to incorporate my new learning into my daily routine, but I'm determined to take my communication skills to the next level.

Day 1:

I started the day with a YouTube video on basic English vocabulary. It was an effective way for me to learn new words and see how they're used in a sentence. I also practiced speaking the words aloud, which helped me to remember them better.

Day 2:

I spent the day listening to TED Talks in English. I realized that this would help me improve my listening and comprehension skills while also learning about interesting topics.

Day 3:

I started reading a book in English. It was a challenging read, but I enjoyed the challenge of trying to understand the text and looking up new words in the dictionary. I also tried to summarize what I had read in my own words to ensure that I had understood it correctly.

Day 4:

I joined an English-speaking group online and participated in discussions. I found this activity quite challenging, as I was forced to apply my new learning quickly. Nevertheless, I was pleased to notice my communication skills improving over the course of the discussion.

Day 5:

I practiced writing by setting myself a short essay on my English learning experience so far. I then asked my teacher to review my work and provide feedback on grammar and vocabulary use. This allowed me to better understand where I need to focus my efforts regarding sentence structure and tense usage.

Day 6-7:

On the weekend, I took a break from formal studies and instead watched some English films with English subtitles. This was an enjoyable way to practice my language skills and learn new vocabulary in context.

Overall, I'm excited to continue my English language learning journey and look forward to seeing my progress. With consistent effort, I know that I'll be able to communicate more effectively with English-speaking individuals.
