The 55-kilometer Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is a magnificent feat of engineering of China. Connecting Hongkong, Zhuhai and Macau, the Bridge is the longest sea-crossing bridge-tunnel system in the world. With the bridge in place, travelling time between the three cities is cut down from three hours to thirty minutes. This reinforced concrete bridge with huge spans fully proves Chinas ability to create record-breaking megastructures. It will not only boost regional integration but also promote economic growth. The Bridge is the key in Chinas overall plan to develop the Greater Bay Area. It is Chinas intention to build the Greater Bay Area to match the Bay Areas of San Francisco, New York and Tokyo in terms of technological innovation and economic prosperity.

The Qinghai–Tibet railway or Qingzang railway, with a total length of 1956 kilometers and 960 kilometers at 4,000 meters above sea level, is the worlds longest high-elevation railway and the first railway that connects Tibet and other regions of China. Since the railway runs through the most fragile ecosystem in the world, measures have been taken to protect the ecological environment during and after its construction to ensure that its a “Green Railway”. Beijing Daxing International Airport, located 46 kilometers south of Tiananmen Square, began operations on September 30, 2019. The construction of the megastructure started in 2014 with more than 40,000 workers on the construction site in the peak time. Featuring a compact design, the terminal building allows the maximum number of aircrafts possible to park closest to its center, providing great convenience to passengers. There are a total of 82 boarding gates in the terminal, each of which can be accessed in less than 8 minutes once through the security check. Such design of the airport guarantees 300 takeoffs and landings per hour. The Airports annual passenger capacity is expected to reach 100 million in 2040, and thus making it the busiest airport in the world.
